Second Reflection from Maru in Anticipation of Advent Retreat December 6-8

Hi Friends, Here is the second reflection from Maru. Space is still available for the December 6-8, 2019 retreat at Canterbury in Oviedo. We hope you can join us. – Alice Logan

Dear friends and fellow pilgrims,
As we continue to journey toward our Advent gathering, I am reminded of the many ways “The book of Nature” is continually nudging us to join the dance of creation, and co-creation. We live in an evolutionary universe in which our thoughts, as well as our actions affect the very fabric of the cosmos.
Our senses are constantly bombarded with information; the choice to create spaciousness in our day to receive the subtle communications of Spirit remains a countercultural yet liberating choice. Practicing centering prayer provides not only grounding and a discipline that cultivates consent, but sanctuary in which we can breathe, rest and deepen intentionally our sacred belonging. As we let go of our thoughts and over-identification with the cultural din and abide in the divine embrace, the fruit of spiritual attentiveness is growing. The awakening of our spiritual senses opens us to live into the surprises and graces available only in the present moment. How is God still becoming flesh all around us?
“ The heavens declare the glory of God, the vault of heaven proclaims his handiwork, day discourses of it to day, night to night hands on the knowledge. No utterance at all, no speech, not a sound to be heard, but from the entire earth the design stands out, this message reaches the whole world. “
Psalm 19:1-4a
Sharing the journey,
Maru
