On February 8, 2014y Dr. Rickey Cotton presented a day-long workshop, “Christophany: The Fullness of Man.” This day provided an in-depth experience of Raimon Panikkar’s powerful and far-reaching vision of a mystical Christianity for our time. The son of an Indian Hindu father and a Spanish Catholic mother, Panikkar was simultaneously a philosopher, theologian, mystic, poet, and Catholic priest. In his Christophany he seeks for us to have the same kind of deep spiritual experience of God that Jesus had and for which Jesus prayed for us to have in John 17. Along with talks and dialogue, the day included periods of contemplative prayer, meditative readings, and times for individual reflection, prayer walks, or spiritual journaling.

Dr. Rickey Cotton is a commissioned presenter of Centering Prayer and Lectio Divina and a member of the faculty for Contemplative Outreach’s Living Flame program and has presented contemplative workshops around the country. His workshops include Meister Eckhart, Living in the Spirit, Living with the Spirit, and The Desert Ammas and Abbas. Rickey lives in Lakeland, Florida where he is Professor of English at Southeastern University and the facilitator of a Centering Prayer group
there.

The workshop was held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mt. Dora, Florida from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2014.
