The Welcoming Prayer is a method of consenting to God’s presence and action in our physical and emotional reactions to events and situations in daily life.
The Purpose of Welcoming Prayer is to deepen our relationship with God through consenting in ordinary activities. This practice assists in dismantling the emotional programs of the false self system and healing the wounds of a lifetime by addressing them where they are stored – in the body.
We are delighted to once again welcome Mary Dwyer to our community. Mary is a long time student of Father Keating and has been practicing Centering Prayer since the 1980’s. In addition to leading Retreats and Workshops Mary has served Contemplative Outreach as a Faculty Member, member of the Welcoming Prayer service team, coordinator of Living Flame Program, and Chair of Governing Board. Along with her husband Juan she recently moved back to Erie, PA .
The Workshop will consist of teaching the method of the Welcoming Prayer with opportunities to practice. There will be Conferences on the conceptual background of this method, the human condition and the false self system. The day will include two periods of Centering Prayer and opportunities for sharing and reflection.
